Members of local groups were at the Desborough COOP to receive grants from the Local Dividend Fund. Hiding at the back is our Fund Raising Coordinator, Lynda Cosgrove, who collected a wonderful cheque for £1500. Many thanks to our local COOP, and their continued support.
The quiz run by Doreen Bindley at the Conservative Club raised a brilliant £138! Many thanks Doreen for compiling the questions and to Gary for assisting her. Considering it was a bank holiday weekend, it was well attended
Due to adverse weather conditions, £14.50 was the best we could do from sales at our book stall before the event was abandoned at the Millennium Green fete.
WE LOVE THE BEATLES AT MARLOW HOUSE
A rare first pressing of the Beatle’s first album was discovered at Marlow House by Gildings the Market Harborough Auction House.
It had been given to us in a stack of old LP’s and luckily it’s potential value was recognised by Mark Gilding.
‘Please Please Me’ did indeed please us, when the reserve price of £600 was smashed via internet collectors at the auction and sold for a massive £2200…we love you yeah yeah yeah!!!!!
