Helen Crabtree ran “Name the Teddy” for the three days and raised £110. The bear’s name was LENNIE. Many thanks Helen.
We also held a raffle each day and are very grateful to Celia Coe for providing a beautiful floral arrangement for each raffle. Many thanks to Wacoal Europe(the old Corset factory) of Desborough for donating a smashing Christmas hamper for each raffle. The three day total raised £186.
A huge THANK YOU to Andy in our kitchen and the many volunteers for helping him, which made the three days possible.
The generosity of WACOAL extended to them providing all the Xmas crackers and paying for ALL of the food. We are indebted to them and cannot thank them enough.
WACOAL held a CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY at the Desborough factory on Friday 13th December raising a fantastic £174.05 .
The photo shows John Leigh and Hannah Reneerkens, from Wacoal, making the presentation to our Manager Amanda Green.
Many thanks to the staff of CHEANEY SHOES LTD., who raised a incredible £562 on a sponsored walk for Marlow House. This was a wonderful surprise for us and we thank all participants very very much.
Corrugated packaging manufacturer Rigid Containers has donated £600 from an employee competition to Marlow House, for which we cannot thank them enough. To read the full story click on the link.
A big thank you to Helen & June…..
Staunch supporter and volunteer Helen Crabtree and friend June Sullivan organised a ballroom and sequence dance at Tresham Hall in Rothwell on Saturday 1st February. Tickets sold out quickly and thanks to their endeavours and all who attended a magnificent £1,300 was raised!!! Pictured are Helen and June presenting the 'cheque' to Chair of trustees, Alan Francis, alongside a picture of the dance in full swing.
A huge raffle consisting totally of donations was run by Helen and June with nigh-on military precision, a successful tombola and roll a coin to a bottle in the middle of the room (nearest wins the bottle) all helped to achieve an amazing total.
Our grateful thanks to the committee of Rothwell Conservative Club for not charging for the room, and to the gentleman who spent the evening providing the music.
